YoPingMe is live: free uptime monitoring

Updated August 5, 2026. Two things changed since this went out. Monitors are now checked from two regions you choose rather than from all three, so a site that is geo-blocked in one country stops raising false alarms. And this post originally said an outage is confirmed "from all 3 regions" - that was never how it worked. An alert has always waited for a second region to agree, not a third. Uptime monitoring is one of those tools everyone needs and nobody wants to think about. The big suites solved this by making you think about it a lot: setup wizards, per-seat pricing, sales calls. We wanted the other thing - paste a URL, pick where to get yelled at, go back to work.

So that's what we built. YoPingMe is live, and the whole v1 is free.

What it does today

  • Five kinds of checks - HTTP, keyword, SSL, ping, and TCP, each monitor checked every 5 minutes.
  • Checks from more than one place - probes ran in Frankfurt, Virginia, and Singapore at launch (Oregon and London joined August 5, 2026), and every monitor is checked from two locations that you choose.
  • Alerts that wait for consensus - before anything pages you, the outage is confirmed by a second region. A hiccup on one network path is not an incident, and we treat it that way.
  • Email, webhook, and Slack alerts - with sane defaults, so a single dropped packet doesn't page anybody.
  • 30 days of raw history - response times and check results, so you can spot the slow creep before it becomes an outage.

The signup wizard runs a live first check from both your regions while you're still typing - you'll see real results before you've picked a password.

What "free" means here

There is exactly one plan right now: $0 for 10 monitors. No card, no trial clock, no contact-sales button. Paid plans with higher limits are on the roadmap, but today the free plan is the whole product.

What's next

This is a roadmap, not a feature list - none of it exists yet: status pages, SMS alerts, paid plans, a full REST API, teams, and more regions.
